Job Summary:
The high school computer science teacher will support the implementation of a sequential Level I Computer Science class with Programming/Coding and Robotics for junior high school students as defined in the Arkansas Department of Career Education Curriculum Frameworks. The instructor will plan and implement lesson designs to enhance students understanding and comprehension of skills and concepts related to coding and computer programming.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teacher create lesson designs to deliver instruction with emphasis on programming coding and robotics for students in Grades 9 in accordance with the Arkansas Curriculum Frameworks as adopted by the Arkansas Department of Career Education.
- Utilizes curriculum and pacing guides adopted course of study and other materials in planning lesson plans and teaching outlines.
- Participate in curriculum review and design
- Implement a variety of instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives
- Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely manner.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must hold a Valid or be Eligible to Receive an Arkansas Teaching License with Grade 7-12 Licensure in Computer Science for Grades 7-12
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Abide by state statues code of ethics school board policies and regulations
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators and supervisors
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulations.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
