Principal Responsibilities
Strategic
- Execute the hospitals/medical services vision and philosophy.
- Oversee infection control healthcare waste management patient rights awareness safety protocols and relationship building.
- Provide support or assume leadership in the absence of the vertical lead.
- Offer strategic insights and recommend continuous improvements within the vertical.
Operational
- Deliver prompt and optimal medical care to all patients.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and record detailed patient histories.
- Document progress notes reflecting current health status and future plans in consultation with admitting consultants.
- Collaborate with admitting consultants to initiate follow-up treatments.
- Coordinate referrals with other specialists as needed.
- Ensure timely completion and interpretation of investigations informing relevant consultants.
- Hand over bedside responsibilities to relieving staff when off duty.
- Prepare discharge summaries for assigned patients in advance ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Order patient diets according to recommendations.
- Ensure timely delivery of prescribed medications to patients.
- Provide counseling to discharged patients and hand over discharge summaries.
- Conduct rounds with consultants documenting instructions and ensuring compliance.
- Be available for specialty-related emergencies.
- Conduct collective rounds with team members to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Facilitate audits in relevant areas and respond to queries.
- Ensure implementation of SOPs for medical services.
- Assist functional and administrative heads in daily operations.
- Adhere to duty roster and seek permission for any changes or leaves.
- Participate in in-service education programs and train staff for service excellence.
- Maintain adequate record-keeping in relevant areas.
- Participate in periodic staff reviews to assess effectiveness.
- Ensure maintenance of records and documents as per quality standards.
- Provide inputs to support clinical committees as required.
- Ensure maintenance of records in the ward/OPD.
- Report deaths discharges against medical advice and other incidents and follow up accordingly.
- Handle medico-legal cases appropriately.
- Notify competent authorities of patients with notifiable diseases.
- Liaise with other departments to achieve service excellence.
For Discharge Summary
To ensure that the discharge summaries are documented and approved with zero errors by 10:30 AM in the HIS system post subsequent review by Consultant.
Essential: A recognized MS/DNB or equivalent degree from Medical Council of India. Must be registered with State/Medical Council of India.
Preferable: Industry Preference: Hospital & Healthcare
A Minimum of 0-2 year of relevant experience in the concerned specialty in a Super/Multi Specialty hospital post MBBS.
Computer literacy and hands on PC.
