Turn your love of the outdoors and physical work into an exciting job opportunity all while making a difference in your community. The City of Abbotsfords Operations Department is in search of self-motivated enthusiastic individuals to join their dynamic team as Operations Labourers.
The Operations Labourer supports a variety of divisions in the Operations Department including but not limited to Parks Roads Facilities Water and Sewer. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with a wide range of general construction maintenance and custodial tasks. The duties may involve challenging working conditions and changes of assignment with minimal notice based on operational needs. You thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to take initiative to get the job done. You must be able to work effectively in a team setting and individually.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- Completion of Grade 10;
- One years experience in general construction or maintenance work and in the operation of related tools equipment and machinery or demonstrated equivalent of training and relevant experience;
- Valid BC Drivers Licence with a safe driving record

This position is unionized CUPE Local 774 and the hourly rate of pay is $30.14 plus an additional 12.4% in lieu of all benefits including vacation and Statutory Holiday pay.
