About the role:
Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor the Power Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of steam boilers in our plant environment.
This is a full-time hourly position offering an attractive 4 on 4 off schedule consisting of day shifts.
The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood B.C is necessary.
In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Monitoring operating and maintaining steam boilers and associated equipment
- Rebuilding pumps changing fan motors performing pump alignments and other repairs
- Other duties on site as required include filling in as a serviceperson Lubeperson or Shop Helper
- Candidates with a Red Seal certification will have their skills utilized in other duties related to their trade as needed
- In certain components of this role it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free seal
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid 4th class Power Engineering certification or higher
- Valid class 5 drivers license or equivalent without learners restrictions
- Red Seal trade certification in Millwright Pipefitter/Steamfitter or Welder would be considered an asset

Hourly Wage: $45.52
Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
