As a Juvenile Justice Specialist you will be tasked with delivering nonprofessional care custody supervision and training to court-committed adjudicated delinquent residents within a secure or restricted setting. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe clean and comfortable environment is in compliance with the Department of Human Services Office of Children Youth and Families Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services and other relevant agency policies. Work involves maintaining security through constant vigilance and direct supervision of residents to ensure a safe living environment including preventing self-harm or harm to others. You will be upholding order and discipline by actively supervising residents; responding to emergencies; and using the least restrictive intervention techniques to prevent escapes manage inappropriate behavior and maintain a secure setting. Additionally you will provide instruction and guidance to residents to help them develop acceptable behavior and skills in daily activities including housekeeping work training programs and study habits. You will also have the opportunity to support their social and emotional growth by modeling pro-social values and behaviors encouraging a genuine desire for positive change.
