We are seeking a dedicated full-time Peer Support Supervisor to lead and support our team of Peer Support Specialists within community-based and mobile crisis settings. This position can be based at any of our Aroostook County locations.


Position Overview:


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Peer Support Supervisor to lead and support our team of Peer Support Specialists within community-based and mobile crisis settings. This leadership role ensures that peer support services are recovery-oriented trauma-informed person-centered and aligned with Intentional Peer Support (IPS) principles. The Supervisor fosters a culture of mutuality respect and empowerment while ensuring compliance with state certification standards and agency policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Supervision & Development: Provide guidance and oversight to Peer Support Specialists conducting regular individual and group supervision sessions.
  • Program Oversight & Quality Assurance: Assist in designing and evaluating peer support components of crisis and outpatient community-based programs ensuring fidelity to CIPSS guidelines and recovery-based models.
  • Training & Onboarding: Coordinate onboarding and ongoing training for peer support staff including IPS ethics boundaries and safety in crisis environments.
  • Collaboration & Advocacy: Promote peer involvement in interdisciplinary crisis teams and foster strong collaboration with clinicians case managers and first responders. Advocate for the unique value of lived experience in crisis services across the agency and in community partnerships.
  • Safety & Ethics: Assist in developing safety protocols for staff engaging in mobile or community-based crisis work. Support staff in adhering to ethical standards confidentiality laws (HIPAA) and recovery-oriented practice boundaries.
  • Financial Responsibilities: Monitor and manage program budgets related to peer support services in collaboration with program leadership and finance staff. Assist in the development and justification of staffing supply and training expenditures for peer teams.
  • Direct Peer Support Duties: Provide occasional direct peer support during staffing shortages high-acuity situations or to model IPS-aligned engagement techniques for new or developing staff.

Requirements

  • This position requires a High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of experience in a supervisory role. Demonstrated leadership ability including providing supervision training or mentorship.
  • Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) in the State of Maine and have worked in the peer support role for minimally one year (required).
  • Completion of Peer Support Supervisor training through the State of Maine or willingness to complete upon hire within 6 months (required).
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required for community-based work.
