Job Description

Location: Woodlands Primary School
Salary: Band G .19 - .24
Start Date:1st September 2025

At Woodlands Primary School we pride ourselves on providing an inclusive engaging and supportive learning environment for all our students to support the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and activities to small groups individual students or whole class cover.

Woodlands Primary School in Wirral is a culturally rich and diverse and inclusive school. The board of governors are seeking to appoint a dedicated skilled and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our energetic and passionate team. The successful candidate will be committed to helping our students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and activities to small groups individual students or whole class cover.
Assisting in the planning and preparation of learning materials.
Leading small group interventions and providing one-on-one support to students as needed.
Helping to assess and track student progress.
Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students in their social and emotional development.
Working collaboratively with the teacher and other staff to create a stimulating learning environment.
Supervising students during lunch and break times as required.

Essential Criteria:
HLTA qualification or equivalent (or working towards).
Experience working with children in a primary school setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A patient empathetic and proactive approach to supporting students.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience of delivering interventions for students with additional needs.
A good understanding of the national curriculum.
First aid certification (or willingness to complete training).
