JOB DESCRIPTION
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and execution of experiments involving long-read sequencing to analyse repeat length sequence interruptions somatic mosaicism and methylation patterns at the DMPK locus.
- Bioinformatic processing and analysis of long-read data including the development or adaptation of pipelines to study repetitive and epigenetically regulated regions.
- Integration of multi-omics data including transcriptomic and metabolomic datasets to investigate disease mechanisms and identify potential biomarkers.
- Collaboration with clinical and experimental teams to ensure translational relevance of the findings and contributions.
- Preparation of scientific publications conference presentations and reports derived from the project outcomes.
- Engagement with the broader MSCA network including participation in training activities and workshops.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE
Candidate must comply with theMSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025 (HORIZON-MSCA-2025-PF-01)eligibility criteriaset by the call:
- Supported fellows:Must be in possession of doctoral degree. At the call deadline () supported researchers must have a maximum of 8 years full time equivalent experience in research measured from the date that the researcher was in a possession of a doctoral degree and certified by appropriate documents.
- Nationality: Any.
- Mobility: The researcher must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work studies etc.) in the country of the host organization for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the deadline.
- Researchers wishing to reintegrate from a third country must either be based in a third country at the call deadline or have moved directly from a third country to an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country within the last 12 months before the call deadline.
- Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
- Candidates with an oustanding record of Research achievements and publications
- Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience in two or more of the following areas
- Long-read sequencing technologies.
- Analysis of repetitive DNA regions structural variants or somatic mosaicism.
- Transcriptomic or epigenomic profiling.
- Multi-omics data integration (transcriptomics metabolomics epigenomics).
- Bioinformatics and data analysis in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Rare disease research especially in neuromuscular or neurogenetic disorders.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Living allowance: 5990
- Mobility allowance: 710
- Family allowance (if applicable): 660 x % covered by the beneficiary
- Long-term leave allowance (if applicable): 6700
- The candidate can be only incorporated with an obtention of a MSCA-PF-2024 or similar.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.
The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus. IGTP is a CERCA centre and is also accredited as a centre of excellence by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and is in charge of coordinating the management and scientific strategy of the campus working in close collaboration with the other centres.
