Job Description
Direct Support Professional Community Habilitation
Arc of Onondaga is looking to hire Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered Community Habilitation (Comm Hab) services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Services are designed to support the person within their community with the ultimate goal of fostering independence enhancing skills exploring the community and having fun!
Community Habilitation services are provided in a 1:1 or small group setting. Activities can include assisting with errands exercising outdoors development of financial management skills leisure activities volunteer work and more!
Work when you want: Schedules are flexible and based upon the number of hours and schedule the employee wants to work!
Direct Support Professional Community Habilitation Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid NYS drivers license reliable vehicle (expected to be used while providing Community Habilitation Services).
- Has a passion for working with and creating positive impactful relationships in the lives of the people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Exhibits positive approaches that provide encouragement mentoring and instruction resulting in effectively achieving and maintaining independence and integration within the community.
