Description

Location: Lafayette LA

The Manager of Supply Chain Services leads the activities of all staff who order manage receive store and deliver materials equipment and supplies to all entity departments. Responsible for overseeing supply chain related services including but not limited to: inventory management warehousing shipping receiving and related handling of materials and equipment; supervises the transport of materials to and from departments; ensures material needs are met throughout the organization and has budgetary responsibility and authority for personnel actions. Develops supply chain tactical plans in an effort to improve product availability reduce costs optimize inventory investment and provide high quality services. This position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  1. Customer Service
    1. Communicates effectively with customers.
    2. Responds to customer issues and/or concerns.
    3. Perform routine quality/service rounds to units.
    4. Pays attention to detail that assures patients visitors and employees have a quality experience in our facility
    5. Demonstrates commitment to achieving superior customer satisfaction through quality of work communication problem solving initiative flexibility and adaptability and attitude.
    6. Greets customers in a friendly manner.
    7. Works well with others by recognizing the value of our diverse workforce and remains open to new view points ideas and talents.
    8. Understands the importance of a positive attitude and recognizes that our customers have a sense of urgency.
  2. Inventory Logistics/Materials Management
    1. Accountable for capital asset tagging process.
    2. Accountable for Revenue Management process for patient billable items.
    3. Oversees the recall of supplies when special warnings have been issued by Manufacturer.
    4. Observes and adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures and follows all safety quality and infection control standards.
    5. Acts as a resource to hospital departments and personnel by providing high quality assistance regarding purchasing procedures products vendors and contract negotiations in an effort to ensure that quality products and services are purchased.
    6. Responsible for maintaining efficient inventory controls systems by monitoring the defragmentation of the supply inventory.
    7. Organizes and oversees receiving and storeroom operations ensuring timely and accurate distribution of materials and proper storage of stock.
    8. Monitors inventory levels reorders and back orders in an effort to ensure that appropriate levels of stock are maintained for efficient hospital operations.
    9. Works closely with Purchasing in order to expedite inventory levels.
    10. Ensures that all departments personnel are proficient in the use of the current software systems used in the department.
    11. Recommends develops and coordinates the implementation of departmental policies and procedures and reviews the utilization and application of those procedures in an effort to promote departmental efficiency and provide high quality health care services.
    12. Works closely with director in the developing and recommending annual departmental operating and capital budgets.
    13. Monitors the economical use and procurement of personnel equipment and supplies.
    14. Ensures the periodic equipment maintenance is carried out in order to control hospital and departmental cost and ensure the conversation of all hospital resources.
    15. Oversees that proper cycle counts are conducted.
    16. Oversees the annual inventory process.
  3. Performance Improvement
    1. Directs departmental continuous quality improvement programs that support the attainment of optimum health care service outcomes.
    2. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory agency and JCAHO guidelines.
  4. Leadership
    1. Leads Supply Management Teams to identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
    2. Selects trains orients and assigns departmental staff members in manner that ensures efficient operations and complies with relevant regulations governing the employment process. Implements and monitors departmental work schedules and duty assignments.
    3. Ensures all personnel are proficient in the use of the current tools software systems and metrics used in the department.
    4. Provides guidance and support to staff members aids in removing performance barriers and facilitates effective problem solving amongst employees.
    5. Prepares performance appraisals assesses feedback from customers and peers and communicates to employees successes and learning opportunities.
    6. Performs leadership in the absence of the Director.

Qualifications

Experience - 10 years of materials experience (Bachelors degree substitutes for 4 years of experience Associates degree substitutes for 2 years of experience)

Education - High School diploma
