JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Support Services Manager

Employment Classification: Full Time / Salary / Exempt

Reports to: Director of Support Services

Department: Programs


Program Summary: Our Support Services programs empower transitional age youth (18-25) by offering comprehensive support through several key initiatives: the Lyon Workforce Academy (LWA) provides case management and workforce training including training and support for corporate partners; the Young Adult Court (YAC) a collaborative effort with Orange County Superior Courts and University of California Irvine focuses on reducing recidivism by offering case management resources and linkages; and the Grants & Scholarships program which offers financial and educational support to youth pursuing higher education.


Position Summary: The Manager of Support Services oversees the implementation and quality of multiple support programs for transitional age youth including LWA YAC and Grants & Scholarships. This role involves leading and developing program staff ensuring trauma-informed service delivery managing community and donor relationships and overseeing program budgets and compliance. The Manager is responsible for program evaluation data management and crisis intervention requiring a flexible schedule including after-hours and on-call availability.

Requirements

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead and supervise a team of staff who are knowledgeable of and responsive to the unique challenges faced by transitional age youth including those impacted by foster care the justice system homelessness mental health issues and trafficking.
  • Ensure high-quality program implementation and evaluation through continuous monitoring data management and collaboration with external partners.
  • Organize and coordinate program efforts to maintain a team-driven approach involving caregivers youth and community services in the development and delivery of services
  • Provide coaching feedback and performance evaluations for staff fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with program goals.
  • Manage community and donor relationships in partnership with the Program Director expanding the programs referral and resource base.
  • Oversee program budgets and expenses ensuring financial resources are used effectively and in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Develop and update program policies and procedures ensuring staff are informed and consistent in their application across all program sites.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support including after-hours on-call response to address emergencies and support program operations.
  • Lead effective team meetings and supervise individual and group activities ensuring alignment and collaboration within the team.

Knowledge Skill and Experience Requirements:

  • Masters degree preferred or a Bachelors degree in Human Services or a related field with 8-10 years of related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with increased responsibility in the human services field working with homeless transitional age youth current and former foster youth or in a related area.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Transitional Age Youth (TAY) and in a supervisory capacity.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing contracts grants and program budgets.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs competing priorities and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Experience in crisis management and resource deployment ensuring effective and timely responses to emergencies.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing program policies and procedures aligning them with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present effectively in public and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management with the ability to generate reports and manage program data.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program including after-hours availability as required.
  • Possess a valid California drivers license and proof of automobile insurance. Position requires DMV clearance.

    Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

    • Position may require use of personal vehicle. Physical requirements include standing sitting typing bending and lifting up to approximately 25 lbs. (i.e. tables chairs food water etc.).
    • Modification to work schedule may be made based on needs of the Foundation.
