NYC Parks Media Education Unit provides high-quality digital resources and creative learning opportunities for all. Our community education spaces are located within Recreation Centers across the five boroughs and are accessible with Recreation membership. Through the TechOpps certification program members can develop industry-standard skills in a variety of programs. TechOpps Digital Media Certification is a signature program offering high-level Adobe Creative Suite certification.
Major Responsibilities
- Under general supervision of Program Manager with latitude for independent initiative and judgment coordinate and facilitate graphic design learning and oversee the daily operations of Media Educations TechOpps Adobe certification program.
- Organize a schedule of graphic design certification workshops for the signature Media Education program TechOpps.
- Ensure that TechOpps programming follows citywide seasonal room schedules and allows for enough time for students to practice and prepare to take the certification exam for the corresponding graphic design software.
- Attend staff development and provide leadership training and expertise to Media Education Associates volunteers and interns.
- Prepare workshop participants to take exams in Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe InDesign.
- Monitor and track program participation.
- Respond to email and phone inquiries regarding Media Educations TechOpps programming. Refer inquiries to the appropriate staff member for follow-up.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 above.
