Job Description

MISSION: Unite donor passions with university priorities to elevate the impact of Oklahoma State University.

DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: The OSUF Prospect Development Team is a high performing service-oriented unit which provides the OSUF development community with data tools and resources enabling them to successfully secure private support for the university.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Supports the major gift fundraising efforts of the OSU Foundation and Oklahoma State University by providing relevant timely and actionable information to frontline fundraisers thereby providing them with the ability to make critical business decisions.Based on qualifications and experience candidates may also be considered for a Prospect Engagement Analyst role (instead of a Senior Analyst).

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:
Primary Responsibilities-

  • Develop and maintain a system that integrates insights about prospects passions and interests capacity ratings social media interactions news alerts wealth events industry trends into Prospect Developments descriptive and predictive analytics systems. Leverage these insights to inform the Portfolio Optimization process
  • Measure and evaluate engagement metrics with managed prospects and present during Portfolio Optimization meetings
  • Create curated prospect lists tailored to fundraisers needs and bandwidth supplying them with the best prospects to fit their request
  • Work with the Director of Prospect Engagement to establish systems to feed prospects to Development Officers Development Associates and Digital Experience Officers
  • Track activity of referrals such as resulting contact assignments and gifts to determine return on investment and any adjustments that need to be made
  • Translate funding initiatives across campus into targeted prospecting opportunities
  • Design and implement strategies and analysis to categorize prospects according to their current and future philanthropic potential leveraging data from ascend industry data data from wealth screenings and data from Prospect Developments suite of research tools
  • Analyze market and industry trends and their impact on prospect pools
  • Highlight Prospect Development best practices with reports visualizations and newsletters to effectively tell the story of prospect data in easy-to-understand ways
  • Help improve the effectiveness of prospect management/research tools by highlighting errors and suggesting additions that would improve workflow
  • Assist with Prospect Research requests as needed
  • Assist with Prospect Development projects and requests as needed
  • Provide support for key OSU fundraising initiatives and research projects including prospect strategy sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
Education & Certifications-

  • Bachelors Degree plus three or more years of relevant experience; or the combination of education and related experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position. Based on qualifications and experience candidates may also be considered for a Prospect Engagement Analyst role (instead of Senior Analyst).


Experience-

  • Strong analytical skills to assess problems and determine creative solutions.
  • Solid communication skills with ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with Tableau and Salesforce experience
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Proven sense of humor and ability to have fun

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must use a computer terminal and view a computer screen for extended periods of time. Must talk in person or by phone (frequently and sometimes for extended periods) to people on campus and across the country. Must constantly use visual acuity to check printed and designed materials of various types. Must be able to navigate within the OSU Foundation. Typical office working conditions.
