Job Description
Amazon is seeking a highly motivated Senior Program Manager to join our NA Surface Transportation Safety & Compliance team. The person in this role will identify safety and compliance trends and engage partners in business tech and operations to build and deploy scalable safety mechanisms to improve on-road safety and compliance across middle-mile operations. This role will require diving deep on the strategic technical and tactical levels simultaneously acting as an internal ambassador educator analyst solutions architect and implementer. This roles success will hinge on improving safety and compliance across a blend of internal customers and external drivers and carriers.
Key job responsibilities
Data mine to become an expert in safety incident trends and root causes owning accident reporting data quality across all Middle Mile supply types.
Proactively identify and mitigate program risks and obstacles by collaborating closely with business partners and key tech and non-tech stakeholders. This includes effectively communicating with and influencing senior Director-level stakeholders across multiple parts of the organization.
Design build and implement scalable policy and process to reduce safety and compliance risk from on-road operations.
Identify safety and compliance defects from data and root cause drivers. Scope future state solutions influence roadmap decisions and measure the effectiveness of solutions that are implemented over time.
Engage external stakeholders to ensure tools and mechanisms are fit for purpose to collect safety related data.

- 5 years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 5 years of team management experience
- 5 years of cross functional project delivery experience
- 5 years of program or project management experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience writing documents on topics such as process improvement proposals business requirements program roadmap and proof of concept
- Experience managing analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- MBA
- Demonstrated experience communicating data insights to others
- Executive level written and oral communication skills
- High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously
- Demonstrated success in thinking strategically and executing methodically
- Proven capability working with presenting to and influencing senior executives up to Director level
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse set of business and technology stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities manage risk and resolve conflict
- Experience with FMCSA/DOT regulations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
