Job Description

MISSION:
Unite donor passions with university priorities to elevate the impact of Oklahoma State University

DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: Pipeline Growth & Readiness exists to create a wide and deep pool of highly engaged donors to programs and units across OSU helping donors discover their philanthropic passions and implementing strategic tactics and partnerships to aid donors in realizing their full philanthropic potential

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Digital Experience Officer (DXO) uses a combination of digital channels (including video texting phone social media and virtual visits) to build relationships and solicit funds for OSU. DXOs will focus exclusively on building relationships with donors and prospects closing and stewarding leadership-level annual to mid-sized gifts ($1000 to $49999) and identifying new major gift leads.

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:

  • Primary Responsibility #1 Fundraising & Engagement (60%)
    • In partnership with the Director of Pipeline Readiness and other development unit colleagues become an expert in university-wide engagement and giving opportunities.
    • Create messaging which allows for widescale outreach and engagement for both discovery and cultivation.
    • Establish regular cadences of communication touchpoints (stewardship cultivation engagement solicitation) using a variety of digital channels including social media platforms email texting and video to provide concierge engagement experiences to donors.
    • Upgrade donors regular giving to their OSU philanthropic passions and steward gifts appropriately in conjunction with standard OSUF donor relations activities.
    • Integrate DXO messaging and engagement to align with larger OSUF development initiatives.

  • Primary Responsibility #2 List & Portfolio Management (20%)
    • In partnership with the Director of Pipeline Readiness and using available technology identify pools of potential prospects for outreach and discovery at scale
    • Identify a rolling portfolio of approximately 250 individuals for regular management.
    • Become adept at using Pipeline Readiness technology for both list management and outreach.
    • Use integrated outreach in partnership with the Pipeline Growth Team to perform prospect discovery at scale.

  • Primary Responsibility #3 Pipeline Development (20%)
    • With guidance from the Director of Pipeline Readiness become adept in development and engagement best practices using tools and programming made available by OSUF and other professional groups such as CASE AFP and benchmarking cohorts
    • Strategically move DXO managed prospects through the donor pipeline with giving upgrades to increase dollars and donors at scale in the Leadership Annual Giving and Mid-Range Giving bands.
    • Identify DXO managed prospects who are ready to make a major or planned gift within the next six to 12 months for handoff to the appropriate OSUF Development teammate.

JOB COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education & Certifications-
    • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required.

  • Experience-

    • Preference will be given to candidates with strong OSU affiliation prior development experience or a combination of the two.

Physical Requirements:
Must use a computer terminal and view a computer screen for extended periods of time. Must talk in person or by phone (frequently and sometimes for extended periods) to people on campus and across the country. Must constantly use visual acuity to check printed and designed materials of various types. Must be able to navigate within the OSU Foundation. Typical office working conditions.
