As part of a major expansion of its research and academic programs in pharmaceutical sciences the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences with a focus on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice.

The University of Ottawa is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading university and the largest bilingual university (French and English) in the world. Located on the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe-Algonquin people in the heart of downtown Ottawa it contributes significantly to the economy culture and quality of life of Canadas capital.

We are seeking candidates with expertise in teaching and a strong research focus at the intersection of AI and pharmaceutical sciences. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: AI-driven drug discovery and development quantitative systems pharmacology large language models for education and clinical support machine learning applications in pharmacology and personalized medicine data analytics AI-enabled clinical decision support systems and digital health innovations in pharmaceutical care. We also welcome candidates exploring the application of AI in pharmacy education including adaptive learning technologies and simulation-based training to enhance student engagement and curricular design.

The successful candidate will:

The selected candidate will have access to extensive research infrastructure and shared core facilities within the Faculty of Medicine as well as collaborative opportunities with nearby hospital-based research institutes.

Title of the position: Assistant Professor. The higher ranks will be considered according to budgetary approval.

Duties: Academic staff functions include in varying proportions:

Terms: New tenure-track position

Wage: Salary scale for an assistant professor starts at$99377 (as of May 1 2025)
