The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking anInvestigative Analystto work closely with and assist the Investigative Audit Division by receiving entering investigating and analyzing complaints into the computerized case management system. OSA receives complaints of government wase abuse and fraud via a telephone tipline email traditional mail and through an internet poral.
The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is the Taxpayers Watchdog. We operate as the States Independent Auditor and provide unbiased audit and investigative reports so stakeholders can make informed decisions hold entities accountable and ensure good stewardship of public funds.
The Investigative Audit Division within OSA investigates allegations of fraud waste and abuse involving state and local governments as well as state-funded nonprofit organizations. OSA investigations often result in public reports on instances of fraud waste abuse or other improper activities within North Carolina government. These reports sometimes include findings of misappropriation mismanagement waste of state resources fraud or significant violations of state or federal law. Upon completion OSA investigations can be referred for criminal prosecution.
