About the Role

RMIT is seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Director Campus Culture and Engagement to lead a university-wide transformation that places wellbeing inclusion and connection at the heart of everything we do.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer this role is a rare opportunity to deliver a flagship strategic program focused on redefining campus culture enhancing wellbeing and embedding inclusive and connected ways of working. The outcomes of this program will be visible at the highest levels of the organisation contributing to staff engagement workplace productivity and the student experience.

Working in close partnership with senior stakeholders to design and embed new ways of working you will lead a small focused team and collaborate with academic and professional staff students and external partners to deliver outcomes with lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead delivery of a significant organisational culture initiative developing evidence-based approaches to hybrid work initiative aligned to RMITs strategy and values.

  • Engage stakeholders across multiple campuses and functions championing co-design and inclusive practice.

  • Oversee governance evaluation and reporting structures to track success and align delivery with university priorities.

  • Implement a comprehensive change and communications strategy to embed hybrid work and campus culture reforms.

  • Lead a small high-performing project team and build delivery capability across the university.

  • Deliver measurable outcomes across culture connection wellbeing and hybrid workplace transformation.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned strategic change leader with the experience confidence and capability to influence all levels of the University.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Demonstrated success leading strategic high-profile programs focused on workplace cultural or behavioural change in large complex organisations.

  • Proven ability to design and implement transformation programs that drive inclusive and sustainable change.

  • Strong capability in stakeholder influence communication and strategic planning.

  • A track record of change leadership and innovation ideally involving hybrid or post-pandemic work design and models.

  • Financial acumen and experience managing significant program budgets and resources.

  • An inclusive and collaborative leadership style with strong people management skills.

  • Desirable experience in the tertiary sector and/or with co-design methodologies.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Project Management Organisational Psychology Change Management or a related field.

Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check.
