Send Resume to SUMMARYThe Retention Liaison position is a full time non-supervisory position providing guidance to students with appropriate social conduct and behavioral expectations that will enable them to fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. The Retention Liaisons primary concern is the overall safety of the students and staff with an emphasis on situational awareness emphasizing proactive interventions to avert crisis or physical confrontations. The Retention Liaison will collaborate with all school staff members to accomplish a culture of safety security and student social growth. The Retention Liaison reports to the retention plan developed in combination with School DirectorHeads daily security tasks including interior and exterior patrolling of groundsWorks with Attendance Liaison to work with city and state agencies when necessaryWorks with Transportation Liaison to ensure all daily transportation concerns are metImplements School Directors plan for home visits when necessaryConducts security activities according to guidelines established by the Ohio Department of Education and administrative regulationsSupports staff members in their efforts to implement appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials and equipment to ensure comprehension of learning styles and student needsCollaborate with general education and special education teachers on students specific Individual Education Plans to ensure known problems are addressed proactivelyCreate a rich environment for all students to learn and employ effective behavioral management process Coordinate and manage extracurricular duties as assignedAssist in any educational activities approved by the Director Control and guide student behavior in agreement with the student handbookEnsure necessary and reasonable measures are taken to protect students equipment materials and facilitiesEstablish communication rapport with parents students teachers and community members Present information accurately through clear communication skillsGather manage and file all reports records and other documents requiredTeam member and able to communicate and collaborate with all staff members on issues concerning students staff and facilityRefer students and inform appropriate personnel of student issues which (may) distract students from their academic studies social/emotional issues (to Social Worker) or transcript/record concerns (to the Academic Adviser)Immediately alert to appropriate personnel any safety concerns such as suspicion of weapons or drugsQUALIFICATIONSAssociates Degree preferred but not required.
