The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing has an excellent opening for a Biostatistician looking to expand their research skills and work with a team studying substance use policy health disparities health services health behaviors and other related research.
Working closely with the Principal Investigator and multiple research team members the Biostatistician will play a pivotal role for the Substance Abuse and Research Team by overseeing and conducting statistical analyses and then presenting the results.
The main statistical analyses the Biostatistician will oversee and conduct include: descriptive statistics sample comparisons regression analyses longitudinal analyses survival analyses mixed-effect models and multivariable analyses.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Utilize tools such as tables and figures to present analysis results; provide a written description of methods and statistical analyses used
Write analysis sections for research protocols and manuscripts
Review statistical outputs for consistency and quality
Assist with presentation materials; generate project reports PowerPoint presentations and conference abstracts
Make recommendations to the Principal Investigator regarding preferred analyses and research methods for proposed projects
Assist in the design development of studies
The Biostatistician will work both independently and collaboratively utilizing organizational and multi-tasking skills to complete the responsibilities of this position.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain statistical techniques and present results clearly
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and manage deadlines
Willingness to learn new research technologies
Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter
Candidates must have advanced knowledge and experience with standard statistical analysis procedures and knowledge of at least one statistical programming language (e.g. Stata SAS R). Experience with Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint is also required.
A degree (preferably a Masters degree) in statistics biostatistics or a related field is desired.
MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

SALARY & BENEFITS
