Job description:
This role of PRODUCT MANAGER is responsible for all aspects of plant operations and the production team to manufacture the high quality products.
Production Management:
- Plan equipment material and manpower requirements to meet production daily schedule.
- Set plant layout & production process flow.
- focus on in Inventory Planning Forecasting Customer Satisfaction Controlling costs & Storage.
- Material requirement planning (MRP) Based on Identifying Requirements like Quantity in hand Quantity on open purchase order Quantity in/or Planned for Manufacturing & Sales forecast.
- Material requirement planning (MRP) Primary MRP Reports Planned orders Order release notices Changes in due dates Cancellations of open orders & Inventory status data.
- Analyzing sales data trends and customer demands to create inventory forecasts.
- Creating purchase orders for raw materials or components based on production schedules and inventory levels Like RM (Raw Material) WIP (Work in Progress) SFG (Semi Finished Goods) & FG (Finished Goods).
- Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that they remain within set parameters at all times
- Transformation of Raw Material in Semi Finish products by mechanical process like sawing hotwire cutting. Install related fixtures and tooling.
- Assembly of Semi Finish products by gluing screw and other manual process.
- To increase the production with minimum rejection; it means optimize the cuts of small sizes from big raw material panels to have less waste of Raw Material. Minimize overall production costs while maximizing productivity.
- Organizing Workflow: Planning and prioritizing production orders. Scheduling workers to meet production targets.
- Continuous Planning scheduling and monitoring material movement in production cycle to ensure continuous operations.
- Track material shortages on individual Customer and provide immediate resolution.
- Plan and coordinate in process work distribution activities for each customer with teammates.
- Supervising the manufacturing processes ensuring quality work is done in a safe efficient manner.
- Develop and implement production processes for process enhancements
Vendor Identification & Selection
- Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials or components to meet production schedules
- Communicating with suppliers about pricing changes or order status updates.
- Supplier Sourcing: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality cost and delivery capabilities.
- Negotiation: Negotiate prices payment terms delivery schedules and contract terms with suppliers.
- Purchase Order Management: Create issue and track purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely procurement of goods/services.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with vendors for smooth communication problem-solving and performance monitoring.
- Cost Management: Analyze and control procurement costs to achieve budget efficiency and savings.
Contract Management
- Draft and manage procurement contracts ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to align procurement with inventory needs and avoid overstock/stockouts.
- Procurement Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate procurement records supplier databases and generate reports for audits or performance reviews.
Skills and experience required:
- Hands on experience as Production Manager in production department of a packaging industry. Should have at 3-4 years experience as Production manager
- Most preferred if experienced in production of temperature-controlled packaging systems.
- Should have had experience in a small production unit. (where we one has to manage the team production and quality )
- Experience in planning and scheduling manufacturing projects.
- Experience in Organizing Workflow: Planning and prioritizing production orders. Scheduling workers to meet production targets.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Managing the production and quality activities .
- Ability to set up new machine on production
- Should be able to operate machines when required
- Ability to use Forklift or stackers
- Experience in contract management.
- Experience in Inventory stores Management and relevant procurement.
- Hands on experience in Supply chain management
- Prior experience in Alternate vendor selection and development. Well versed in maintaining relationship with vendors/suppliers.
- Hands on experience in New product /project development.
- Hands on experience in CAD (AutoCAD) and graphic design software (CorelDraw)
- Good experience using Microsoft Office . Especially Handson experience using Excel to do Bill of Material(BOM)
- Advanced skills in ERP system . Preferred experience in using Odoo project (On-Demand Open Object )
- Must have Good ENGLISH communication skills : Both spoken and writing skills
- Knowledge of French will be an added advantage
