Onboard Systems Service Technician (Leadmind)

SALARY:63529 inclusive of shift allowance

ROLE TYPE:Mobile / Depot-based

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS:Based at a Northern Train Maintenance Office or Depot with travel to UK supplier sites

HOURS:37

Were now looking for anOnboard Systems Service Technician (Leadmind)to support the reliability of our fleet through expert analysis fault resolution and proactive use of Remote Condition Monitoring (RCM) data.

This is a mobile depot-based role requiring strong technical and analytical capabilities. Youll work hands-on with digital systems across our network while helping the business evolve its approach toCondition-Based Maintenance (CBM).

What Youll Be Doing

As anOnboard Systems Service Technician (Leadmind) you will:

  • Support and troubleshoot digital onboard systems across Northerns fleet including Leadmind and other RCM platforms
  • Use data to identify fault trends and support fault investigations proactively improving system availability
  • Maintain update and share service delivery reports in line with Onboard Systems governance
  • Act as a key technical contact for RCM offering specialist knowledge to improve fault resolution and maintenance strategies
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering Operations Fleet Managers and suppliers
  • Support the development of a single source of truth for Engineering data by working with key stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement innovation and strategy in relation to onboard system reliability and performance
  • Provide clear and informative reporting and recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior leaders

About You

Tobe successful in this role youll bring:

  • 3 years experience in a converged Operational Technology (OT) support environment
  • A proven track record in fault resolution and system support ideally within the rail sector
  • A recognised qualification (or working towards) in technicalOT support orOT Service Support and Delivery
  • Advanced analytical and technical skills with experience in databases and data tools
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and apply judgement independently
  • Confidence working with complex systems and communicating technical insights to varied stakeholders
  • A passion for data-led decision-making and innovation in rail engineering
