WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position works Monday through Friday 8:00am 4:30pm. Your office would be located at the Port Directors Office in downtown Juneau.
This is the first level registered professional engineer (PE) or architect. Work is performed under the general direction of the Port Engineer.
Independently performs most assignments with instruction as to the desired outcome. Receives instructions on specificassignment objectives complex features and possible solutions. Provides professional management of engineeringarchitectural and construction projects.
May lead the work of lower-level engineering/architectural staff.
Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b). Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
Engineer: Alaska state law requires incumbents to be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE).
Architect: Alaska state law requires incumbents to be licensed as a Professional Architect.
Requirement: A valid Drivers License at time of appointment and for continued employment.
