LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center Jessup MD

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the position is to supervise plan direct and evaluate a hospital-wideprogram in work training and work adjustment for mentally ill patients within a pre-vocational development program. Theprogram is designed to provide pre-vocational instruction where patients can learn basic job skills necessary foremployment outside the facility. Treatment is geared to the individual treatment plan to address the hospitals focus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:Five years ofexperience providing work placement work training and work adjustmentservices to mentally ill patients or developmentally disabled clients in apre-vocational development program.

1. Candidates may substitute thepossession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university witha major in health services human services education or the behavioralsciences and one year of experience providing work placement work trainingand work adjustment services to mentally ill patients or developmentallydisabled clients in a pre-vocational development program for the requiredexperience.

may substitute Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer inCareerCounseling and Advisor classifications or Career Counseling andAdvisor specialty codes in the Counseling field of work on a year-for-yearbasis for the required experience.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classificationmay be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicleoperators license valid in the State of Maryland.

2. Employees in some positions in thisclassification may be required to operate vehicles which require a Class Cmotor vehicle operators license valid in the State of assigned such duties will be required to possess the Class C motorvehicle operators license.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
