SUBJECT: TEACHER - PHYSICS - CLAREMONT ACADEMY GRADES 9-12Elements of InnovationThe Worcester Technical High Schools STEM Early Career and College Initiative will be open to students who want to get an early start on their college career and to students who may not normally consider college (i.e. underperforming students low-income special needs first generation college goers etc.). We envision that once at full capacity all students would graduate from WTHS with a high school diploma a technical certificate and the opportunity to earn college early career and college initiative should:1. Ensure a higher college and career readiness success rate: Early college designs serve as a proven college and career ready strategy for students not already college bound and as a head start on college for those already committed to a postsecondary credential.2. Improve alignment of standards and curricula: Early college designs support andreinforce alignment of postsecondary courses with career/technical competencies and college ready Hiring ProcessIf student enrollment in the high school increases significantly new staff may be required as per state requirements and as the budget and other planning considerations allow. Any new teachers hired for the Worcester Technical High Schools STEM Early Career and College Initiative will become members of the local teachers additional staffing vacancies including assistant principals will be filled by a Hiring Committee which will be comprised of: Principal Assistant Principal Department Head Director of Career & Technical Education. Applications from teachers interested in a teaching or administrative position in this school would be forwarded from Central Administration to the Hiring Committee for consideration. The Hiring Committee will interview candidates and review the applicants qualifications prior performance recommendations and willingness to support the vision and mission of WTHS.
