DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Medical Records Assistant you will provide essential support to the Medical Records Director as well as handle and protect sensitive private legally-privileged and confidential data and information by releasing distributing sharing or conveying data and information only in accordance with established requirements and exclusively to authorized individuals. Some specific duties entail compiling a wide-range of statistical reports maintaining demographic databases and auditing active and closed medical records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment 37.5 hours/week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of clerical experience in a medical records department of a hospital or ambulatory acute medical care setting or a licensed nursing facility which has included six months of experience under the general direction or oversight by a registered Medical Records Technician or Administrator; and graduation from high school;or
- Graduation from a medical secretarial or medical records program;or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
