This position is responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing shipments. Duties include receiving materials inspecting incoming packages for damage and verifying counts and preparing products and other materials for shipment using freight bills. The role operates a forklift and completes or verifies shipping paperwork to ensure accuracy and proper documentation. The employee works under general supervision.
Essential Job Functions
Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage and accuracy.
Document receipts and move materials safely to appropriate locations (may operate forklift).
Prepare and stage products for shipment according to specifications.
Complete or verify shipment paperwork to ensure proper delivery.
Maintain a clean safe work area and perform routine equipment cleaning.
Support team efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience
Required: High school diploma or equivalent; basic computer skills.
Preferred: Some college 6 months shipping/receiving experience forklift operation experience and familiarity with JobBoss or Proshop software.
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Effective interpersonal and independent work skills.
Good time management and recordkeeping abilities.
Ability to interpret freight bills and related shipping documentation.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
