Position: Vice President Risk and Controls

Previous Experience: Proven track record in leading enterprise risk management and implementing PCAOB-compliant control frameworks in a global organization. Demonstrated ability to drive risk-aware decision-making and lead large-scale risk/control transformation initiatives.

The Job

As Vice President Risk and Controls you will lead the strategy and implementation of AVEVAs enterprise risk management and control frameworks. This senior leadership role plays a key part in protecting AVEVAs operational and financial integrity by embedding robust controls driving risk-aware decision-making and enabling business transformation. Reporting to the SVP Finance Operations the role works cross-functionally and has regular interaction with the CFO and C-suite committees.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and controls for AVEVA including:
  • Determining a risk strategy and implement policies and procedures to minimise AVEVA risk exposure and drive controls
  • Embedding a strong risk and control culture
  • Reporting to the Finance and Compliance Committee

ERM

  • Overseeing the ERM programme including improvements and training
  • Preparing for and reporting to the Groups risk committee
  • Fraud risk assessment process
  • Ensures functional risk plans are implemented and reviewed to minimise risk exposure in business functions

Controls

  • Responsible for the Groups financial controls framework. This includes
  • Implementation and ongoing oversight of PCAOB compliant controls including management testing
  • Scoping and appropriate application of PCAOB controls across the group
  • Overseeing the Groups non financial controls associated with risks identified through ERM. This involves working with other key stakeholders such as sustainability security and the people team

Overall

  • Ensuring internal and external audit findings are tracked and remediated
  • Facilitating change management processes to ensure smooth adoption of control changes
  • Key role in M&A integrations process transformation programmes system changes etc.
  • Drives and implements cross-functional initiatives on risk goals policies and procedures
  • Deliver training and ensure continuous improvement on risks and control matters

Team and key relationships

  • The VP Risk and Controls will report to the SVP Finance Operations.
  • This role will work closely with senior leaders from finance along with other functions such as IT security legal sales operations and HR.
  • Schneider Electric financial controls lead
  • External audit and Internal Audit
  • Regular interaction with CFO and key committees at C-suite level

Key requirements

  • Experience of leading risk and controls in a global organisation
  • Experience of a global PCAOB implementation
  • Experience of delivering large programmes globally and leading change such as a controls improvement programme
  • Experience in internal / external audit roles preferable
  • Qualified accountant
  • Experience in finance transformation programme would be preferable
  • Excellent stakeholder management ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and team members and manage demands of a wide range of stakeholders
  • Leadership of global teams ability to bring a team together to perform well manage performance resource planning recruitment etc
  • Ability to develop a strategic vision and lead the delivery of that vision
  • Experience of developing business cases and measuring benefits
  • Be comfortable working with ambiguity in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Influencing persuading and supporting stakeholders to improve the control culture in the organisation
  • Ethics maintain high standards of professional ethics
  • Experience working with third parties eg auditors regulators
