Job Description
Department: Office of the Chief Information Officer
SUMMARY
Were seeking a skilled Mobile Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both React and React Native enabling them to work across our web and mobile applications as well as the ability to work on both the front-end and back-end aspects of our applications. The position plays a pivotal role harnessing technology to drive and optimize business strategies while enhancing operational efficiencies. This role involves spearheading transformative initiatives to enhance business processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native
- Contribute to our web applications using React and
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
- Ensure the performance quality and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
- Write clean maintainable and efficient code.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Collaborate with designers and backend developers to implement new features
- Design and implement RESTful APIs to support mobile and web applications.
- Optimize application performance and ensure high-quality user experiences
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards
- Deploy applications to Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Manage app store presence including updates descriptions and screenshots

This position has regular contact with senior management TFCCS employees TFCCS Service Centers Vendors fellow Database Administrators and System Administrators Network Administrators the Support Desk Department Managers and the Project Management Office.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5 years experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar experience or relevant software development experience.
Knowledge/Skills
- Proven experience as a Mobile Engineer Software Engineer or similar role.
- 3 years of experience with React and React Native
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills
- Experience with state management (e.g. Redux MobX)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- Knowledge of mobile app deployment processes for iOS and Android
- Understanding of responsive design principles
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git BitBucket)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI)
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
- Knowledge of serverless framework tools and best practices for deployment and management
- Understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Technology Skills
- Experience with native mobile development (iOS/Android)
- Familiarity with backend technologies (e.g. Express MERN stack)
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS Azure or Google Cloud)
- Contributions to open-source projects
Work Environment
This position regularly works in an office environment. This position works in the Boston office with an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule .
Engagement with Christian Science
- Mother Church membership preferred.
- Primary Class instruction preferred.
