Job Purpose: The Pharmacists primary job functions are the interpretation of the practitioners orders dispensing the appropriate medications and patient consultations regarding medication use and handling. Acts as therapeutic consultant instructs nurses physicians dentists and other health care team members about pharmacotherapy. Screens all prescriptions for patient eligibility dosage frequency non-formulary and/or restricted status of drugs route of administration dosage form completeness of directions and proper quality of medication. Checks other work performed by technicians including but not limited to pre-packaging and restocking. Counsels patients on their prescribed medication as to name therapeutic use dosage any possible side effects and compliance. Coordinates the receipt and distribution of all drugs in an investigational and/or clinical evaluation status and maintains appropriate records regarding their use.
Clinical Duties:
Works with all clinic Providers in managing patients with Hypertension Diabetes and Hyperlipidemia; performing vaccinations and Medication Therapy Management.
