Job Description

The Opportunity

The Early Learning is Fun Program delivers high-quality evidence-based supported playgroups for families with children ranging from newborns to school age. This role focuses on strengthening early learning promoting play-based learning and building parental confidence using trauma-informed therapeutic activities.

  • Preston location Wurundjeri Country
  • Part time 0.6 Fixed Term role until 30/06/2026
  • $97k pa pro rata 11.5% superannuation salary packaging up to $15900 pa pro rata

We are dedicated to supporting families and promoting early childhood development through engaging and educational playgroups. We believe in fostering positive parent-child relationships and connecting families to essential community services.

The Early Learning is Fun (ELF) supported playgroups offer a safe and playful learning environment for families. The team work collaboratively to provide high-quality parent and child supported playgroups for families experiencing vulnerability.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Children & Playgroup Facilitator to co-facilitate three supported playgroups each week in the City of Whittlesea. The ideal candidate will promote early learning through play provide case support to families work collaboratively with various services to ensure comprehensive support for families and provide guidance and resources.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled professional with experience in group work and case support with families and young children who is:

  • Passionate about early childhood development and trauma-informed care with a strong understanding of play-based learning and its role in supporting childrens growth and development.
  • Has the ability to engage culturally diverse communities apply creative approaches to participation and promote safe playful learning environments.
  • Knowledgeable about child development family violence frameworks (MARAM) early parenting and the secondary and tertiary service systems that aim to support the best interests of children and families
  • Bachelor Level qualified in Social Work Psychology Welfare Early Childhood Education or a related field.
