Job Description
Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) is a regional farm supply co-op with diverse operations including feed production agronomy services and retail stores throughout the intermountain west. We are currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of TURF & ORNAMENTAL SALES CONSULTANT covering an area from Ogden UT up into Preston ID.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Calling on Turf & Ornamental customers to sell fertilizer chemical products chemical application soil analysis services and other lawn care products and services. Develop new customer leads through consistent prospecting activities with golf courses school districts city/county municipalities and other similar organizations. Also responsible for providing customers with diagnosis of turf soils plants weeds insects and fungus. Providing excellent customer service to patrons meeting branch financial expectations working with branch managers to achieve branch sales and profit objectives and working effectively with other departments. Will assist and participate in regularly scheduled product training seminars.
QUALIFICATIONS: A 4-year degree in Ornamental Horticulture Turf Management or related field. 5-7 years experience in an agricultural sales environment. Commercial applications license is desirable. Should currently live in the Wasatch Front or must be willing to relocate. Current drivers license understanding of basic math and ability to calculate formulas and percentages. Ability to read and interpret written information and able to effectively use business computer software. Must be able to work outside in a dusty environment and lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
