The City of West Allis is seeking an experienced and visionary marketing and communications professional to serve as our Marketing Director. This individual will lead the development and execution of dynamic marketing campaigns designed to resonate with our diverse audience and enhance community engagement.
As a key member of our leadership team the Marketing Director will play a critical role in advancing the Citys vision of becoming the preferred community in the Metropolitan Milwaukee Area.

The Marketing Director plays a critical role in promoting effective communication building a strong city brand and enhancing citizen engagement within the local community. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of communication marketing and engagement strategies for the city ensuring a consistent and positive image is projected to residents businesses and visitors. Additionally this position oversees the operations of the Farmers Market Tourism Commission and Cable Communications.

- A bachelors degree in communications marketing journalism public relations or a related field.
- Seven to ten years of increasingly responsible experience in communications journalism public relations marketing social media or other relevant areasperforming duties related to this position including at least five years of supervisory experience.
- Experience in social media management graphic design the public sector strategic internal communications and organizational staff development is preferred.
- Direct supervisory experience including evaluating and disciplining employees.
- Experience with budget development and management.
- Direct experience with change management as well as project development and implementation.
- Strong leadership direct management communication and human relations skills are required.
- A masters degree in public administration or business administration is desirable.
Any combination of training education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be considered. Possession of a valid Wisconsin drivers license is required upon appointment and must be maintained throughout tenure.

Final candidate selection will be completed by the Common Council. Successful candidates are subject to an extensive background check (including but not limited to verification of education credentials certificates licensures; employment history; credit check; drivers license and police criminal background check) and must pass a post-offer drug screen as a condition of employment.
