Starting Salary: $57260 - $62986 (Level I: 1-3 years experience)
$61842 - $68026 (Level II: 3 years experience)

Position Summary:
The Development Manager is a supervisory and multidisciplinary position leading various annual fundraising programs of the organization including donor and community stewardship special events data management direct mail and targeted programs such as planned giving and monthly giving. The Development Manager in collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer Director of Capital Campaigns and Grants Manager focuses on cultivation of corporate and foundation relations. Based in Denver this position supports resource development in regional offices (Denver Fort Collins Greeley Colorado Springs Pueblo and Grand Junction). In partnership with the CEO CSO and local associate directors this position is responsible for fundraising activities. Regular travel and attendance at networking events is required.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Chief Strategy Officer to establish/attain key performance indicators and revenue goals.
Collaborates with regional Associate Directors of Administration to develop and implement fundraising activities.
Provide fundraising and event support and guidance for Regional Councils in their fundraising endeavors; this includes regular attendance at Regional Council meetings.
Provide leadership and supervision for Development Coordinator(s)
Serve as producer and Day of Event Manager for signature and community events; adhering to approved budgets and overseeing vendor relationships.
In partnership with the leadership team and the Grants Manager seeks grant funding opportunities.
Advises on and implements technology solutions to support fundraising activities.
Identify and recruit corporate and foundation sponsors
Secure silent auction commitments
Provide logistical support for events and committee meetings
Collaborates with the Chief Strategy Officer and Strategic Communications Manager to implement awareness campaigns and marketing activities
Develop and implement strategies to encourage new or increased contributions
Ensures that donor/funding acknowledgments are made timely.
Recruit empower and mobilize volunteers
Manage vendors or internal electronic reservation system for events and donor data base
Coordinate stewardship activities for donors and sponsors
Work with staff and members of the Development team to design and implement direct mail promotions
Work with the Development and Management team in creation of marketing and communications campaigns for the organization and for materials specific to events
Support the development of agency publications and collateral (annual report brochures newsletters etc.).
Actively participates in key community events and organizations that cultivate funding relationships or promote CHN.
Maintains communication across the organization to ensure integration between departments and full utilization of all CHNs resources.
Maintains strong working relationships throughout organization including work with program directors to engage program-specific partners.
Makes operational tactical level decisions on a day-to-day basis.
Sets expectations of teamwork within and across departments and models collaborative behavior.
Supervision Responsibility
Provide on-location and remote supervision coaching support and inspiration to the Development Coordinator(s) to achieve highest and most effective performance

Provide necessary opportunities to maintain staffs subject matter expertise (trainings and seminars)
Understands and communicates the strategic direction along with relevant policies and procedures to staff members.

Conduct annual performance evaluations; ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling; review weekly timesheets for accuracy and update/approve by required deadline; conduct regular (bi-weekly or monthly) supervision meetings and annual performance evaluation with direct reports by required timeline.

Qualifications:
Three years of progressive fundraising experience required. One year of supervisory experience required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of fundraising techniques and sources of funding for nonprofit agencies and organizations. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with HIV/AIDS and marginalized communities preferred.
Education:
Bachelors degree in marketing communications business or nonprofit management or related field. Masters degree preferred.
Software Utilized:
Experience working with basic office and database computer programs including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and the internet. Experience with CRM and e-mail platforms required. Experience with fundraising contact management or other database software preferred. Must be able to learn fundraising software in a timely manner.
Knowledge Skill and Ability:
Willingness and ability to work with diverse populations - persons living with HIV the LGBTQ community persons of various ethnic backgrounds disenfranchised communities. The ability to establish and cultivate strong relationships that translate to donors and volunteers is important. The ability to effectively work with staff and volunteers to engage them in the fundraising process. Creative strategic and organized thinker with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to organize and coordinate fundraising activities with multiple deadlines. Excellent communication client relations and management skills. Highly organized and detail oriented. This position requires personal and professional accountability; self-management and initiative; dedication to quality improvement professional integrity and research ethics and cultural competency. Must demonstrate accuracy efficiency and excellent organizational skills. Must demonstrate effectiveness in the following areas: task management; teamwork; time management; and communication with teams managers clients and company consultants.
Material and Equipment Directly Used:
Works with standard office equipment including computer workstations laptops servers printers copiers scanners and fax machines. Works with software including constituent/donor data systems word processing software spreadsheet applications and presentation software. Communicates with clients partner organizations and vendors using telephone e-mail the Internet and fax.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
Works in an office environment. Will travel to offsite locations. Must have and maintain a valid Colorado drivers license and auto insurance. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. Regularly assists event production requiring ability to stand for up to 6 hours. Requires clear speaking ability and the ability to use a telephone for extended periods. Requires ability to view a computer screen (near acuity). Requires fingering agility for keyboarding and using a telephone and other office equipment. Requires ability and willingness to work in environments where alcoholic beverages are served; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
