Job Description: Enfield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love of literature and language in students while promoting critical thinking and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum that aligns with state standards and district goals.
- Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate best instructional practices including differentiated instruction collaborative learning and technology integration.
- Teach various aspects of English language arts including literature writing grammar and vocabulary.
- Foster a classroom environment that is welcoming respectful and supportive of all students promoting equity and inclusion.
- Assess and evaluate students progress through formative and summative assessments providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Encourage students to think critically and express themselves effectively through written and oral communication.
- Collaborate with colleagues parents and the community to support student learning and create opportunities for students to showcase their work.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in English education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in English Education or a related field.
- Valid Connecticut teaching certification in English.
- Experience teaching English at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of adolescent development and instructional strategies for secondary education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
