Amazon is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to lead Amazons highest-impact largest-scale initiatives for delivery signals to help customers discovery fast local and/or environmental friendly selections. Responsibilities include collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers writing specifications driving project schedules from design to release and managing the production launch.
Our team drives complex business problems leveraging both company-wide platform solutions as well as designing them from the ground up where they dont exist. Delivery is a key part of the customer experience when shopping on Amazon. If youve ever placed an order with Amazon Prime or tossed a low-priced jar of paprika in with your purchase then youve experienced some of Amazons delivery programs. We build global technology solutions going beyond localization to customize programs to the logistics and e-commerce standards in each country where we operate. Not only must our software scale but it must adapt to regions ranging from downtown Tokyo to remote Alaska.
You will lead and coordinate the design/implementation efforts between in-org teams and external partners to develop optimal solutions. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market clearly communicate goals roles responsibilities and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams.
The right candidate will possess a strong program management background will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects and will have a well-rounded technical background in current web technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives but can also roll up your sleeves dig in and get the job done.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include working with product management to define strategy and requirements identifying and securing commitment from teams across the company for new initiatives driving consensus on the technical approach setting timelines and leading cross-functional development teams from design through delivery. Youll need to be a strong project manager with technical and business acumen as well as an excellent communicator -- whether working with developers or providing updates to business leadership.

- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3 years of software development experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
