A top multinational in the FMCG sector is seeking an experienced Sales Director Nigeria to develop and execute nationwide sales strategies and lead a high performance team. Reporting to the Managing Director you will take immediate ownership of sales targets and position the company for sustained growth.
What You ll Do
- Lead Sales Teams: Provide direction and coaching to all sales personnel to maximize performance and achieve targets.
- Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies that increase market share and profitability aligned with the annual business plan.
- Distributor & Channel Management: Build and nurture relationships with new and existing distribution channels promoting both new and existing product lines.
- Promotions & Forecasting: Collaborate with distributors and marketing to design impactful trade and consumer promotions; accurately forecast weekly monthly quarterly and annual revenue.
- Policy & Collaboration: Formulate sales policies and procedures; work with the Commercial Leadership Team on market analysis competitor evaluations and growth opportunities.
- Team Development: Identify skill gaps among team members and partner with HR to recommend targeted training programs.
- Cross-Functional Support: Determine customer service support needs and recommend improvements to management; represent the sales function at trade events and expos.

Requirements
Who You Are
- A strategic thinker with 10 years of FMCG or related field experience including at least 5 years in a managerial sales role.
- A results-driven leader with a proven track record of building profitable sales operations.
- An excellent communicator and negotiator capable of forging effective relationships internally and with external partners.
- Highly analytical with the ability to interpret sales performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
- Comfortable traveling across Nigeria to support field sales and key account management.
What You Bring
- Bachelor s degree in Business or related discipline (MBA preferred).
- Strong commercial acumen and history of developing new business ventures.
- Demonstrated expertise in forecasting budgeting and executing sales promotions.
- Exceptional presentation and project management skills.
