Job Purpose
- Support a young man staying at the service until June 23
- Provide support with hoisting bathing personal care and feeding at meal times
- Work as part of a team of in-house staff at Orient Street Short Breaks (respite) for adults with learning disabilities and autism
- Create a safe caring engaging and stimulating environment for the residents
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Adopt a person-centred approach to meet the individuals needs
- Provide personal care and undertake manual handling duties as required
- Assist with domestic duties and general home management
- Work in accordance with the medication policy and Southwark s policy for safe storage and handling of medicines and treatments
Essential Experience Required
- Experience working with adults with learning difficulties in a residential environment
- Experience providing personal care and working with people who have behaviors of concern
- Experience in Safeguarding
Essential Qualification Required
- General education qualification
Additional Information
- Contractual hours: 36 per week on a 7-day rota basis including weekends overnight work bank holidays and religious festival days
- Shift times are typically 07:00 15:00 and 15:00 22:00
- DBS check is required for this role

This is to support a young man who is staying at the service until June 23, the individual needs support with hoisting and bathing, personal care and feeding at meal times. The individual has a gender preference for male support staff for all personal care, so male staff are required. The post will be working as a part of a team of in-house staff providing support at Orient Street Short Breaks (respite) adults with learning disabilities and autism (and associated physical disabilities). Incorporating: (1) 5 beds for Adults (Registered with the Care Quality Commission)
