About the role
As a Support Worker with Activ in Geraldton you will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement. We are all about personalised and people-focused support teaming up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. Current Opportunities:
- Option 1 - Permanent hours working 50-60 hours a fortnight start times ranging from 6:30am to shifts finishing as late as 7pm. Picture a roster pattern based on your availability!
- Option 2 - 50 hour fortnight overnight sleep a Rover you will have a set roster pattern however each shift could be at a different notethat for the 8 hour unpaid sleep period between 10pm-6am you remain at the home and sleep in your own private room.502212 Roster Pattern 50 HR FN - Rover Overnight
- Option 3 - Casual work
Suitable candidates may also be added to the talent pool and contacted directly for future vacancies.
A typical day in the role may look like:
- Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customers life goals and working to achieve them
- Joining customers in recreational activities such as swimming dancing bingo horseback riding going to the gym bowling and more
- Supporting customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation housekeeping showering and toileting medication administration and attending appointments
- Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
- Administration duties and mandatory daily reports.
The ideal candidate:
- Cert III in Individual Support (CHC33015 or CHC33021) or Cert IV in Disability (CHC43115 or CHC43121) - essential for overnight roster otherwise desirable
- Be passionate about providing service and assistance and helping others live their best lives
- Have willingness to support customers of any gender by assisting with personal care (showering toileting) and domestic duties (meal preparation housekeeping)
- Have a valid drivers licence and be willing to use their comprehensively insured private vehicle if required to transport our customers to activities or appointments
