Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities: Attend at delivery and care for patients at any gestational age requiring NICU services
  • Surgery in house on weekdays to cover all neonatal services in NICU LDR/OR Mother baby unit and perinatal clinic.  In house coverage is split among neonatologists.
  • Teaching; residents and students there is a remuneration for teaching

Expected Hours

  • 5 days per week 
  • On call split all calls with other neonatologists to provide 365 days neonatal coverage. On call is on first call for very sick neonates and deliveries <30 wks on second call when pediatrician on call that covers NICU needs help
  • On call rotation to be organized by Neonatologists in equitable manor. 

Qualifications :

Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)

Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
