2025 Summer Elementary ECPP Teachers
LOCATION: STARS: Westside Secondary School 300 Alder St. Orangeville ON - 1.0 FTE (22 hours/week) - temporary (2 positions)
DATES & HOURS: July 2 2025 July 24 2025 (Monday to Thursday) - Hours are 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a 45 min. unpaid lunch break.
RATE of PAY: $62.66/hour
JOB SUMMARY:
Education and Community Partnership Programs (ECPP) consist of classrooms within residential and/or day treatment Care and Treatment Facilities. Students are in programs that primarily focus on treatment needs while attaining individualized academic goals. In all classrooms there is a Child and Youth Worker providing support. All teachers will need to work collaboratively with facility staff to deliver an integrated education and treatment program.
Please note that if there is direction from the Ministry of Education and/or the WDG Health Unit onsite courses will pivot to a remote format.
STARS (School Transition and Readiness Skills) is an elementary program for students designed to equip students with the tools they need to transition and succeed in a mainstream classroom setting. This program supports students from kindergarten to grade 3 who benefit from an ABA therapeutic learning setting.
Note: There will be a paid half day staff meeting/orientation on Monday June 30th 1:00 - 3:30.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Member in good standing with OCT
Special Education Part 1 (specialist preferred)
Experience working with in-risk/students with complex needs including ASD
Primary qualifications; kindergarten qualification is an asset
