Job Description

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in structural analysis and design.
  • Extensive experience in the generation of structural characteristics and responses.
  • Demonstrated capability/experience in the use of COTS structural/mechanical tools (Siemens NX Ansys MATLAB) and a desire to obtain a working knowledge of Textron developed software.
  • Demonstrated capability/experience in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word Excel and PowerPoint) to document structural analysis methodology and results.
  • Excellent communication skills are required as the position requires the description/documentation of structural analysis techniques and results using a variety of tools (PowerPoint Word).
  • Active security clearance is required.

About This Role
We believe people should love what they do - in this role you will be responsible for:

The Structural Engineering Analyst will be responsible for performing advanced structural analysis and design of flight vehicles in the Strategic Missiles Business Line. The position requires extensive expertise in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) models Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and other structural analysis software. The analysis techniques used as well as the compiled results will be summarized in presentations and detailed design analysis reports.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior structural analyst performing complex static and dynamic structural analyses of flight vehicles in the strategic missiles and reentry vehicle area.
  • Utilize a combination of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools (Siemens NX Ansys MATLAB) and Textron developed software tools to generate structural characteristics and responses.
  • Define recommended changes to improve the performance/efficiency of structural design features.
  • Summarize results and design application techniques during the above activities via presentations and design analysis reports.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in structural analysis techniques and best practices.
  • Up to 5% travel may be required
