The Investigation Specialist provides thorough and impartial investigation services into complaints or other allegations of misconduct primarily related to identity-based harassment discrimination sexual and gender-based violence respectful workplace and code of conduct pursuant to applicable laws such as Title IX and college or Minnesota State policies and procedures. The position is responsible for the report intake process case management and implementing supportive measures for impacted parties and recommending training on relevant topics for the college community. This position handles highly sensitive issues and information and is knowledgeable of anti-discrimination laws compliance regulations and the principles of inclusion and belonging.

$66649.00 - $98240.00
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree with two (2) years of professional related work experience (i.e. investigator auditor or analyst) -OR- an equivalent combination of education and experience. An associate degree could be substituted for 6-months of experience a bachelors degree is 12-months and a masters degree is 18-months.
Experience conducting complex investigations into allegations of discrimination harassment sexual violence misconduct or acts of crime.
Demonstrated skill in organizing and formulating an investigative work plan defining the investigative scope and determining the priorities and strategies for an investigation.
Demonstrated skill in investigative interviewing techniques sufficient to effectively and ethically collect evidence from witnesses complainants respondents victims and third-party sources.
Demonstrated skill in verbal and written communication and presentation sufficient to create and present clear well-organized accurate and grammatically correct reports to decision makers and to competently testify in legal proceedings.
Ability to remain professional and maintain control during stressful encounters or situations.
Knowledge of due process sufficient to ensure the essential fairness of an investigation and protect individual rights.
Preferred Qualification
Masters degree in Business Criminal Justice or Law/Legal Communications Psychology or related fields.
Experience in the application of: Public Employment Labor relations act and labor arbitrations under its auspices PELRA Civil Rights Act of 1991 Title VII and Title IX; State of Minnesota Human Rights Statute Section 363; ADA and/or 504 Rehabilitation Act; Family educational Rights and Privacy Act FERPA and State of Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
Experience as a Title IX deputy or coordinator.
Bilingual/Multilingual fluent in Spanish Somali Karen Anuak Nuer or other languages that reflect our student body workforce and communities.
Demonstrated experience working with a multicultural and underserved populations.
