Job Title: Payroll Specialist - Canada
Location: San Antonio TX
Contract
This position works as a key team member within the North America payroll team to manage the biweekly Canadian payroll including on and off cycle payroll payroll tax garnishments software operations vendor and supplier interfaces and other technical and non-technical issues. Will liaise with outside payroll system vendor(s) to address client needs and service level impacts.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drives key outcomes in achieving payroll administration for Canada
- Drives the successful administration of outsourced payroll for Canadian associates
- Ensures data/time uploads are conducted in a timely and accurate manner
- Runs and Analyzes biweekly pay reports and address variances
- Manages payroll process to ensure payroll is processed timely on processing day
- Provides compensation analysis for T4s
- Analyzes and works with vendor on T4 corrections and amendments
- Manages direct deposit tax forms and additional compensation entries
- Manages off-cycle payroll requests
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Ensures compliance with all audit compliance SOX and general financial controls
- Assist as needed with project related duties

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Four-year degree BA/BS in Business HR or Accounting
Qualifications :
Experience
- Minimum 4 years Canadian Payroll experience; strongly prefer experience in SAP and interfaces with external Payroll vendors
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll practices and principles
- Understanding of current Canadian payroll regulations particularly in Quebec
- Experience processing T4s R1s ROEs and T2200 forms
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Ability to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong mathematical skills with ability to research analyze and correct time and payroll data
- Ability to communicate in a precise and clear manner
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of internal/external contacts
- Prior HR experience; Generalist experience a plus
- Desired - Experience working in mid/large complex environment
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel and Word including advanced proficiency; enterprise HRIS (preferably SAP) with interface to external payroll vendor
