Job Description

Head of Strategy - Ramboll Asia Pacific (Singapore)

You will join our APAC Management Unit

We invite you to bring your strategic skills into play as you contribute to supporting our senior leadership. Your role is based in Singapore where you will work closely with the Managing Director for Asia Pacific and be part of the Asia Pacific leadership team (APAC LT).

As Head of Strategy your role will be focused on:

Driving strategy development and execution in collaboration with the Managing Director and the Asia Pacific Leadership Team. You will be part of the global Strategy community and organize market and internal analysis and plan and facilitate development discussion and follow-up of strategic components as the Asia Pacific region grows. This includes dialogues on where we need to add to the talent pool and capabilities in APAC to address market demand and opportunities with the APAC LT and HR. Part of your role will also include developing the strategic rationale and pipeline for acquisitions and drive these through decision gates valuation due diligence and deal and to own subsequent post-merger integration. This will be done in close collaboration with Group Strategy and M&A.

On a daily basis you will be working closely together with our Clients & Sales and Communication & Marketing teams to grow the business and strengthen the brand. You will participate in Business Reviews and Quarterly Management Reviews along with the Managing Director and be expected to contribute materials and present them to our Group Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial officer.

You will based on capacity and need hold several global add-on roles where you represent APAC in global networks.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are:    

Market intelligence & insights

  • Drive collection analysis and synthesis of market intelligence to support strategic and data-driven decision making
  • Identify key emerging trends and growth opportunities to support Rambolls expansion in Asia Pacific
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and strategic partners

Business management & reporting

  • Lead and coordinate the annual business planning process for the region in close alignment with global and regional business area and functional leaders
  • Drive and manage quarterly and annual business performance reviews with the Group COO and CFO
  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) analysing results and making data-driven decisions to improve performance
  • Prepare materials and presentations for leadership meetings board discussions and external events / conferences

Strategy development & implementation

  • Drive the development of Rambolls regional strategy and translate strategic priorities into actionable business plans
  • Drive and support strategic projects globally and across the region in close collaboration with relevant business area leaders
  • Work closely together with our Client & Sales and Comms & Marketing teams on to ensure a coherent approach to market positioning and client engagements

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Identify potential M&A targets to support the growth strategy in the region
  • Drive due diligence processes in close collaboration with key internal stakeholders and Rambolls global M&A team
  • Oversee and facilitate post-merger integration processes in the region to maximise value creation

    Qualifications :

    • MSc or Bachelors degree within a scientific/technical/engineering field social science humanities or scientific field.
    • At least 10 years of work experience in leadership/commercial related fields with good industry insights
    • Significant experience with strategy development and implementation
    • Good analytical skills and understanding of how to do data-driven decision making
    • Proven ability to understand various disciplines across the AEC industry
    • International and cultural awareness
    • Strong communication skills fluent in English written and spoken.
    • High work ethic and sense of quality
    • Significant experience in operating in Asia Pacific or parts of.
    • Good understanding of how to develop business enablement teams and processes
    • Understanding and preferably prior experience in M&A and post-merger integration
    • Strong change management capabilities
    • Passionate about leading people experience in leading both leaders and staff experience of working in Asia-Pacific would be an advantage but not essential
