We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Conveyance Engineer to be part of our Municipal & Transportation Design team. As an Intermediate Conveyance Engineer you will work closely with the project manager and design lead on a variety of projects related to sewers forcemains watermains and related systems. You will be expected to contribute actively to the designs propose solutions to the project manager and the lead designer work independently and delegate some of the tasks to the junior staff. This role can be based in any of our Ontario offices including Mississauga Burlington Bowmanville London and Kitchener.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute actively to the analysis design and reporting of water and wastewater conveyance systems including sewers forcemains watermains and associated infrastructure ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings sewer and watermain design calculations sketches presentation material detailed specifications cost estimates and reporting
- Assist the project manager and design lead in the delivery of projects from initiation to completion including supporting the coordination of designs production of preliminary design reports preliminary plans detailed plans tender document preparation and engineering support during construction.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (e.g. structural engineers electrical engineers environmental consultants) to develop integrated solutions for conveyance systems.
- Support inspectors and contract administrators for projects under construction and review contractors submittals for adherence to design specifications.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports feasibility study reports and project documentation. Maintain accurate records of project progress and changes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Environmental or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- 7 years of experience in the design construction and maintenance of water and wastewater conveyance systems including pipelines pumping stations and related infrastructure.
- Professional Engineer (.) designation from Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Knowledgeable of industry standards codes and regulations related to water and wastewater conveyance systems.
- Familiarity with water and wastewater conveyance systems particularly the preliminary and detail design of sewers watermains forcemains rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to clients stakeholders and team members.
- Ability to work effectively and independently with little supervision in a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment.
