RMHC Toronto encompasses a Housefor 81 families in downtown Toronto and seven Family Rooms in hospitals acrossthe Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury. PositionOverview
Are you a collaborative experienced HR professional looking to make ameaningful impact in a dynamic purpose-driven environment RMHC Toronto isseeking a Manager People & Culture to lead and elevate core HRoperations and programs across the employee lifecycle.
Reportingto the Director People & Culture you will serve as a strategic andhands-on partner to managers and employees across the organization. KeyResponsibilities
EmployeeRelations & Culture
- Serve as the main HR contact for managers and staff providing guidance on employee relations policy interpretation and workplace best practices.
- Champion a respectful equitable and inclusive culture across the organization.
- Conduct internal investigations and advise on appropriate outcomes.
- Promote continuous learning and awareness around IDEA (Inclusion Diversity Equity Accessibility) initiatives and embed IDEA throughout the HR processes.
TalentAcquisition & Onboarding
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for staff roles including sourcing screening interviewing and onboarding.
- Partner with hiring managers to deliver an inclusive equitable timely and welcoming candidate & onboarding experience.
Performance& Engagement
- Guide performance management processes including annual reviews goal-setting and development planning.
- Facilitate employee engagement initiatives and support feedback channels to enhance the employee experience.
HROperations & Compliance
- Maintain and enhance HR policies procedures and systems.
- Ensure legal compliance and data integrity in employee training documentation and recordkeeping.
- Prepare payroll inputs bi-weekly and liaise with payroll processing team.
- Support health and safety programming including training and WSIB documentation; serve on the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
Compensation& Benefits
- Administer benefits programs and support annual renewals.
- Assist in compensation benchmarking and internal pay equity reviews.
Offboarding& Transition Support
- Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews and knowledge transfer.
HRReporting & Insights
- Use HR systems and tools to provide reporting and analytics to inform strategic decision-making.
SpecialProjects
- Lead and contribute to HR-related projects that drive efficiency innovation and cultural impact.
- Collaborate with other departments including Volunteer Engagement on cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications& Experience
Education& Experience
- 710 years of HR generalist experience with at least 3 years in an evolving HR Manager or HR Business Partner role.
- Solid HR experience across a multitude of areas in a start up environment (e.g. employee relations recruitment & selection training & development health & safety).
- Experience in the non-profit or social impact sector is preferred.
- Human resources education or a related field with transferable knowledge and proven knowledge of best practices and functions update.
- Experience working with or supporting volunteer-based teams is a strong asset.
Key Skills& Competencies
- Proven ability to design and optimize HR systems and practices.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian employment legislation (ESA OHSA Human Rights Code).
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in HRIS systems (PayWorks or similar) and Microsoft Office.
- Experience implementing or enhancing HRIS platforms is an asset.
- Analytical mindset with strong reporting capabilities.
- High degree of discretion professionalism and sound judgment.
- Proactive adaptable and collaborative team player with a people-first mindset.
- Customer-service oriented with a solutions-driven approach to HR activities.
Additional Requirements: Completionof satisfactory reference check and a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
