Buffalo Trail Public Schools is pleased to offer a part-time Grade 6 teaching opportunity at Wainwright Elementary School in Wainwright Alberta for theschool year. Working Mondays Wednesdays and alternate Fridays (0.5 FTE) this interim position is ideal for a student-centered educator seeking a meaningful role in a supportive inclusive school community. Specific Position Details:

- Subject Areas: Elementary Generalist (Grade 6)
- Contract Type: Interim
- FTE: 0.5 ( Mondays Wednesdays and alternate Fridays)

Specific Position Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction in a Grade 6 classroom.
Demonstrate familiarity with the new Alberta K6 Program of Studies particularly upper elementary content.
- Apply a variety of instructional strategies and assessment practices to support a range of learning needs and promote academic success.
- Foster a positive inclusive classroom environment that builds student confidence connection and a sense of belonging.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to school-wide initiatives that enhance student learning and well-being.
Experience in upper elementary is considered an asset
Qualifications and General Duties:
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning strategies including both formative and summative assessment practices
Ability to build positive relationships with students staff and families to foster a sense of belonging
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based school environment
Proficiency with Google Suite and other digital tools to support instruction assessment and home-school communication
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
A willingness to contribute to the school community beyond the classroom is considered an asset
