Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a/an Lead Panel Welder located in USA Fontana Ca.
Reporting to the Production Manager the Lead Panel Welder will be responsible for leading a team of welders in completing assigned tasks for various manufacturing processes.
What a typical day looks like:
- Oversees the work of assigned team employees
- Addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor
- Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new team members in partnership with the training specialist and team trainer
- Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience
- Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments
- Inspects work performed by team members
- Tracks and logs workers time materials and other resources used for inventory purposes.
- Partner with supervisor or production manager to reslove any issues that arise within department.
- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job
- Fabricates various items using cutting burning and welding techniques and equipment
- Monitors the welding burning and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping distortion expansion or shrinkage
- Prepares assembles and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded
- Maintains organizes and cleans equipment and the work area
- Performs other related duties as assigned
The experience were looking to add to our team:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 4 years of previous work experience in Welding using the MIG/GMAW process
- Prior experience in effectively leading a team of employees
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to peform work accurately
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment maintenance and safety management
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs uses maintenance and repair.
- Strong understanding of design techniques principles and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans drawings models and blueprints.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the GMAW process.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Strong understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
What the physical requirements are:
- Must be able to weld components that are vertical or flat
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing balancing lifting walking stooping and carrying materials.
- Must wear PPE such as respirator welding equipment gloves safety glasses hard hat and ear protection while working on the production floor
