Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in related field and four years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience; or a or a combination of education and related experience.

Preference may be given to those who possess a masters degree and experience in implementing programs for retention and progression to graduation and success for all students such asbridge programs academic coaching peermentoring financial literacy transition from HS to college etc. Experience presenting to small and large groups; effective verbal and written communication.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Office of Student Success at Georgia State University seeks an Program Director State Farm Scholars to join its pioneering First-Year & Transition Programs team ranked as a national leader for innovative approaches to learning community implementation and higher-education retention. This student-facing position utilizes diligent academic interventions and strategic programming initiatives to support the success of our State Farm Scholars on Georgia States Decatur campus location. Providing our scholars with both encouragement and accountability the Program Director will track students term-by-term enrollments and guide them through successful transitions for every collegiate milestone along their journey of academic discovery. This position serves on the frontlines of fulfilling some of the universitys most essential Strategic Plan goals and institutional values including the commitment to helping students from all backgrounds succeed at high rates. This position is responsible for regularly delivering targeted programming and driving engagement to this special cohort of scholars. The selected individual for this role will work in conjunction with campus partners and the wider resources available on behalf of the First Year & Transition Programs team to ultimately support the retention progression and graduation of our State Farm scholars at Georgia State University.
Essential Job Functions
Administer and support retention and success programs activities and initiatives focusing on the support of State Farm Scholars and the university.
Provides supervision and direction duties such as hiring training and evaluating professional graduate and undergraduate staff. Advise and lead staff regarding university policies and procedures and technical systems such as but not limited to EAB Navigate and Banner.
Work with partners in Admissions Financial Aid University Advisement Center and University Career Services to onboard and support State Farm scholars.
Manage all State Farm initiatives and data tracking.
Be highly accessible to individual scholars as an advisor and mentor on academic and personal concerns that impact academic performance.
Serve as an academic coach to help scholars identify their academic potential and eliminate obstacles to their goals and objectives.
Provide programming support resources and outreach to State Farm scholars.
Maintain records and provide narrative and/or written progress reports as directed including program assessments/evaluations budget reports and program reports for each cohort of State Farm scholars.
Prepare and report on metrics for State Farm partners.
Use data and predictive analytics to design timely and strategic interventions for student support.
Partner with academic enrollment and student engagement units on retention progression and graduation-oriented programming.
May assist with hiring training and supervision of student assistants peer mentors and volunteers.
Provides additional support to the wide range of programming within Student Success Programs and First-Year and Transition programs that will impact the State Farm program.
Assist in the construction design and distribution of Student Success programming publication and resources designed to promote and retain State Farm scholars.
Facilitates academic success workshops.
Answers email inquiries from the relevant First-Year and Transition Programs email accounts sent by students instructors faculty and staff.
Supports First-Year & Transition Programs initiatives and events including presentations workshops events outreach administrative processing and other duties as assigned.
The Program Director will be expected to teach GSU 1010 courses.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
